Recent Developments

In 2024, Eko Health received FDA 510(k) clearance for its AI-enabled cardiac tool designed for early detection of low ejection fraction, a key indicator of heart failure. The Eko Low Ejection Fraction Tool (ELEFT) allows providers to detect low ejection fraction in just 15 seconds during routine exams.

The ELEFT is part of Eko’s SENSORA Cardiac Early Detection Platform, which includes several FDA-cleared algorithms for identifying atrial fibrillation and structural heart murmurs.

Funding and Research

In 2022, Eko Health received a $2.7 million grant from the National Institutes of Health to develop a machine learning algorithm for detecting and classifying pulmonary hypertension. This grant supports an algorithm that utilizes phonocardiogram (PCG) and ECG data collected by Eko’s stethoscopes.

Additionally, Eko Health obtained FDA 510(k) clearance in 2022 for an algorithm that identifies and characterizes heart murmurs in both adult and pediatric patients. The Eko Murmur Analysis Software employs machine learning to analyze heart sounds, phonocardiograms, and ECG signals to detect various types of murmurs.
