Doccla Partners with Gophr for Efficient Medical Device Delivery

Collaboration Overview

Virtual care provider Doccla has partnered with delivery service Gophr to enhance the swift distribution of medical devices and tablets to patients and healthcare facilities.

Key Features of the Partnership
  • Doccla specializes in virtual wards and home-based care using Bluetooth-enabled devices, including:
    • Blood pressure monitors
    • Pulse oximeters
    • Thermometers
    • Multi-parameter wrist watches
  • The collaboration began in February 2025 and utilizes Gophr’s platform for:
    • Real-time GPS tracking
    • Notifications for collection and delivery
Statements from Leadership

Celine Lavaud, Chief Business Operations Officer at Doccla, stated:

“Many of our users require urgent remote monitoring on the day they’re discharged from the hospital, and most logistics providers simply can’t offer the speed, flexibility, or patient sensitivity needed for healthcare. With Gophr, we’ve found a partner that understands the operational and human demands of healthcare, providing a certainty of delivery that traditional carriers cannot.”

Delivery Services Offered
  • On-demand, same-day delivery service from Doccla’s Wembley hub for patients and hospital sites within the M25.
  • Pre-scheduled same-day service for larger items destined for NHS hospitals across the UK.
Importance of Medical Logistics

Graham Smith, Strategic Account Director at Gophr, emphasized:

“In medical logistics, both speed and accuracy are non-negotiable. Delays or delivery errors can compromise patient care, which is why our systems are built to ensure every item arrives at the right place, at the right time.”

Future Projections

By the end of 2025, Gophr is expected to complete over 10,000 deliveries to patients’ homes through this partnership.

Recent Funding and Expansion Plans

In December 2024, Doccla announced it had secured £35 million in a Series B funding round led by Lakestar, aimed at expanding its presence in Europe’s life sciences sector, particularly in:

  • France
  • Germany
  • Austria
  • Switzerland

This followed a €5 million investment from Bertelsmann Investments in November 2023.
