Experts have highlighted several significant risks associated with using health chatbots:

- Echo Chamber Effect: AI models may reinforce existing beliefs rather than challenge misinformation.
- Algorithmic Bias: AI can perpetuate social biases, worsening health inequalities.

Public Involvement in Guide Development
The project is a collaborative effort involving over 20 institutions worldwide, including University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. It aims to co-design the guide with public partners to ensure accessibility across various age groups and literacy levels.
Dr. Joseph Alderman, a Clinical Lecturer at the University of Birmingham, stated, “Ignoring this shift leaves the public to navigate a hazardous information landscape unaided. Our goal is to equip users with the necessary tools and understanding to use these powerful resources safely.”
