Contract Overview

United Lincolnshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust has entered into a contract with Nervecentre to implement a new Electronic Patient Record (EPR) system. This initiative is a significant step towards achieving fully digitised patient health records.

Implementation Timeline
  • The EPR system will be rolled out across all acute hospitals within the trust.
  • The anticipated start date for the rollout is September 2025.
System Features and Benefits

The new EPR system is designed to:

  • Provide clinicians with secure and instant access to real-time patient data at the point of care.
  • Enhance the speed and efficiency of information sharing across various departments, wards, and hospital sites.
  • Improve access for staff, patients, and healthcare professionals throughout the Lincolnshire care system.
Funding and Support

This 10-year contract follows a competitive tender process and is supported by funding from NHS England, which allocated £1.9 billion in May 2025 to assist NHS trusts in achieving a core level of digitisation.

Expert Insights

Professor Colin Farquharson, group chief medical officer at United Lincolnshire Teaching Hospitals, stated:

“Within the next year, we will start to see patient data in real time, allowing immediate access to a comprehensive range of patient data at the bedside. The EPR represents new opportunities that we are excited to see realised.”

Michael Humber, group director of digital services at the trust, added:

“By using technology, we will deliver tools for our frontline staff that support them in improving care and increasing patient safety. We look forward to beginning the Nervecentre rollout across our trust from September 2025.”

Regional Collaboration

United Lincolnshire Teaching Hospitals will join a growing network of acute trusts utilizing Nervecentre’s platform, including:

  • Northampton General Hospital, which went live with the system at the end of June 2025.
  • East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust, which signed a 10-year contract with Nervecentre to implement its EPR system starting in May 2025.
  • Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, which also selected Nervecentre as its preferred supplier for an EPR.

This collaboration is expected to foster secure data exchange among hospitals while respecting localised record-sharing preferences.
