Powys Teaching Health Board (PTHB) in Wales has chosen Better as its technology partner to implement an electronic prescribing and medicines administration (ePMA) system.
Key Features of the ePMA System

Dr. Kate Wright, medical director for PTHB, expressed enthusiasm about the transition to a fully digital system, stating, “This move will enhance patient safety and simplify processes for staff. I am excited for this project and appreciate the investment from the Welsh government.”

The ePMA implementation is part of the national Digital Medicines programme, led by Digital Health and Care Wales (DHCW) and funded by the Welsh government.
Future Collaborations
In August 2024, Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCU), the largest health board in Wales, also announced its partnership with Better for an ePMA system, which is set to go live by March 2026. Additionally, in February 2025, Aneurin Bevan University Health Board confirmed its selection of Better for ePMA implementation in local hospitals.
