First Cohort Selected for Grow Digital Health Midlands Accelerator

Nine innovative digital health companies have been chosen to join the inaugural cohort of the Grow Digital Health Midlands accelerator program, which focuses on enhancing healthcare solutions in the Midlands region.

Launched in February 2025, the Grow Digital Health Midlands program replaces the previous East Midlands Digital Health Accelerator. It is delivered by Health Innovation East Midlands and Health Innovation West Midlands, inviting participants to propose digital solutions that tackle significant local and national healthcare challenges.

  3. AirEmail – Enhances healthcare communications by supporting email management for professionals.
  4. Kaenect – Offers AI-powered referral automation and patient engagement tools compliant with Booking and Referral Standards (BaRS).
  5. Surgfit – A remote patient assessment system designed for pre-operative surgical evaluations.
  6. Heidi Health – An ambient AI tool that automates medical transcription to enhance clinician productivity.
  7. Suvera – Provides virtual clinics aimed at improving primary care outcomes for patients with long-term conditions.
  8. ExpertCare – A clinical decision support tool that automates the collection of personalized information for hypertensive patients.
  9. Note Dr – An AI-powered documentation tool that listens to consultations and generates medical notes and reports in real-time.
Regional Impact

The Midlands is the largest NHS England region, covering 11 integrated care systems and serving a population of approximately 11.8 million people.
