Overview

Airedale NHS Foundation Trust has engaged PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) to assist in the implementation of its delayed electronic patient record (EPR) system.

Project Timeline Adjustments
  • The Millennium EPR from Oracle Health was originally set to launch in September 2024.
  • The deployment date has been postponed to November 2024 for additional testing to ensure safety and efficiency.
  • As of now, the go-live date has been further delayed with no new schedule provided.
Current Status

A trust board document dated September 3, 2025 indicates that the organization has not yet progressed to full implementation of the new EPR system.

The board paper states:

“The safeguarding teams will continue to ensure risks are highlighted and plans to mitigate these risks are being worked on, including the set-up of new EPR safeguarding systems and documentation templates.”

Comments from Leadership

Leanne Cooper, Chief Operating Officer and Senior Responsible Officer for the EPR program at Airedale NHS Foundation Trust, shared:

“After reviewing organizational readiness, we paused our electronic patient record go-live in November 2024. This pause has given us the opportunity to review any outstanding work and the issues that need to be resolved to ensure a safe and sustainable go-live.”

She added that PwC has been appointed as the EPR delivery partner:

“They are working with the trust’s EPR program team and the wider organization on a future state gap analysis which, when completed, will confirm the work program needed to take us to go-live and enable us to set a date.”
